5G Network is more than 10x faster then 4G Network
When 4G launched, in the first year there were four operators and three device manufacturers as we moved from 3G to 4G. Talking on stage at Mobile World Congress 2019, Cristiano Amon, president of Qualcomm declared that "5G is here".
Comparing the first year of 4G to the launch of 5G, Amon announced that there are more than 20 networks working on 4G and over 20 OEMs lining up devices. The annual trade show in Barcelona is very much a focal point for the launch of the next-gen mobile connectivity, pulling together many years of research and development from many partners.
Qualcomm finds its hardware at the core of a number of devices, pairing the Snapdragon 855 with the X50 modem - and X55 later in the year - to provide 5G connectivity in phones like the Apple iPhone, Samsung, Sony, Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Huawei, Honor, Tecno mobiles.
5G will bring a wide range of benefits to users - streaming video will become more like streaming music, sitting at higher bitrates for a better experience, and all your apps that rely on online services will run faster and smoother. Of course 5G really lands on the Android ecosystem, with Apple not expected to make any announcement until 2020. Bob Borchers, VP marketing platforms and ecosystems at Google said: "Qualcomm and Android, with other partners, are going to reinvent the future."
